A NIGHT OF ART, CHARITY, AND FOOD
BENEFITING THE INTERNATIONAL REFUGEE ASSISTANCE PROJECT (IRAP)
Join us this Ramadan for our 4th Annual Iftar For IRAP! Enjoy a halal buffet dinner, fresh-pressed juice and contemporary art at a *NEW* location, White Space Chelsea, located in New York's Chelsea arts district.
Proceeds will benefit the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), the first organization to provide comprehensive legal assistance to refugees displaced by conflict in the Middle East and North Africa. IRAP was instrumental in organizing and providing legal assistance to those detained at JFK and other airports after the administration’s “Muslim ban", and it continues to provide direct legal aid, litigation, and systemic advocacy to thousands of affected refugees and immigrants. Since we started this iftar four years ago, we've raised nearly $50,000 for IRAP and we are really excited to continue our support again this year. First 50 tickets available at $65, then the price goes up. We sell out every year, so get yours soon!
Past events have included remarks from Stephen Poellot (IRAP’s co-Founder and Legal Director), Mark Doss (supervising attorney who successfully argued against the Muslim ban in the 4th Circuit of Appeals), and Loubna Mrie (Syrian photographer, Reuters photojournalist, and civil rights activist), and a selection of photographs and art for auction from several international and NYC-based artists. This year, we are excited to partner again with Gathering All Muslim Artists (GAMA) to expand our silent art auction.
